How do you compost using worms?
I heard about composting. I wanted to know exactly how to do it. Like can u just use like regular earth worms? or night crawlers? or do u need to use other types of worms? also if i only wanted to do a little bit at a time cant i just use a small plastic container? And i wanted to just use left over food to compost. So is there any kinda of food i shouldnt put in?
worms will find your compost. whether you want to add some or not is up too you. One of your answers said it takes years to compost, which is totally wrong. the main thing you need to do to speed up the process is to keep it turned frequently. with vegetable cuttings from kitchen waste you will want to add lawn trimmings , fall leafs etc. ANYTHING that is organic plant life will work well. also you can use cow manure and I even use some chicken waste from my coops, it’ll all break down.

well it takes a lot of years to compost but worms help don’t kill them they are the reason you soil is rich and good for growing crops and plants!

Ok, you don’t need worms to compost, that just makes it faster. And I wouldn’t recommend doing it inside something like what you mentioned.
Make a pile outside (preferably back yard) on dirt or grass of all your left over ORGANIC materials. This includes fruit and veggies and possibly small amounts of paper (emphasis on the small) plus any bit of gardening "leftovers" like grass or leaves. Every now and then, cover it with a layer of dirt so it goes faster and doesn’t smell. And NEVER put meat in the pile-animals will get to it.
Ok, the worms: you can use whatever kind of worms you want, but most people prefer earthworms because they are bigger and really get the job done. And don’t expect to get them back unless you put your entire compost pile in a large wood box outside.
