One way is to introduce its natural predator. some places sell these and it can be very successful.

You can also use a strongsquirt of water to knock them off, or wipe them off with weakened methylated spirit.

Most indoor plant pests thrive in a homes "low humidity" environment. In the morning, take the plant outside and give the leaves a good spray and roots a good soaking with water. (don't place the plant in the sun as that will cause the leaves to burn)

Once the leaves are dry spray them with a solution of rubbing alcohol and water (about 2 table spoons of rubbing alcohol to a pint of water). This will dry out and kill most bugs found on indoor plants (mealy bugs, scale, aphids ect). and will not harm the plant.

This will likely need to be repeted every couple of days for a week or two. You can also use an insecticidal soap which is non-toxic to humans but will suffocate and kill the pests (again it may take a couple of weeks).

Do Not use a "chemical" insecticide inside your home. Always treat the plant outside. if you do use a chemical insecticide leave the plant outside in the shade for a week until it is no longer toxic.

Plants that are well cared for (good light, plenty of water with good drainage and properly fertilized) will be better able to resist pests and disease.

    Good Luck!

Boil a piece of garlic in about 1 litre of water.
    Let it cool
Use this to spray the indoor plants.

Garlic is great for keeping away insect pests.
