    you want to always …
you want to always wash out your bowl if you have used oil or vinigar before hand in it. This would get into any baking product if you did not wash it out first before use. cross contamination!!!!!!!!!

    Every now and then …
Every now and then you will burn food – then you use SOS pads and elbow grease : ) We maintain two complete sets of stainless (and a lot of cast iron) in our home kitchen, it is in plain view, above the cupboards. Just hand-wash with dish soap and hot water. Hand-dry, and it will always look great.

  11. tastygarlic says:

    The cooking oil …
The cooking oil method is used in commercial kitchens where they service the same bowl several times a shift – It is mainly for presentation value, but it won’t go rancid because it is not re-oiled after the kitchen shuts-down. People doing this at home will notice every speck of dust attracting to the oiled finish, as well as the risk of contamination if it isn’t washed-out before use. If you just use hot soap and water (hand-wash), your stainless will always shine (and remain clean).

will the oil not attract bugs, flies and such?

would this work for burnt on food?…. soap and water doesn’t want to remove the burnt on food on my stainless steel pan
