    Chuck built a nice one. It had about a 2' square base surrounded by 2×4s on edge. Each corner supported an upright 2.x4. He used a better grade of wood for appearance. Around this was wrapped a mesh wire a bit smaller then chicken wire. The compose dried and composed into soil quickly. If a kid sticks his finger in and takes a taste, heck its only a bit of dirt-to-be.
